Black Diamond is a rare and distinctive form of diamond composed entirely of carbon, with the chemical formula C. It belongs to the native element mineral group and crystallizes in the cubic (isometric) crystal system. Unlike traditional white diamonds, Black Diamonds are opaque and contain numerous inclusions such as graphite, hematite, or pyrite, which give them their characteristic black color. There are two main types of Black Diamonds: natural carbonado and treated black diamonds. Natural carbonado diamonds are extremely rare and are believed to have formed under unusual conditions, possibly even extraterrestrial origins. Treated black diamonds are created by enhancing lower-quality diamonds through irradiation or heat treatment to achieve a uniform black color.
